More Manitoba RTB questions
Can I evict a tenant for unpaid rent?

Nonpayment can lead to an RTB notice and application process. The tenancy, payment history and current notice requirements need review; an unpaid balance does not authorize removing a tenant yourself.

Official Manitoba RTB information
What if the tenant refuses to leave?

An order of possession and lawful enforcement procedures may be needed. We coordinate the administrative next steps; we do not offer lock changes or physical removal without proper authority.

Official Manitoba RTB information
Do I need to attend the RTB hearing?

Participation requirements depend on the case. The RTB describes options including an authorized representative. We review your authorization, required evidence and any need for your testimony before the hearing.

Official Manitoba RTB information
What documents do you need?

Start with your lease, rent ledger, payment records, notices and relevant correspondence. Damage or disturbance matters may also need dated photos, incident records and direct witness information. Preserve originals.

Official Manitoba RTB information
Is the RTB filing fee included?

Yes. Standard RTB application filing is included in the $995 package. External sheriff, court, locksmith, moving and storage costs, additional hearings and extraordinary work are excluded and require separate arrangements.

How long does the process take?

Timing depends on the circumstances, required notice and service, hearing availability, decisions and any enforcement steps. We cannot promise a completion or possession date.

Official Manitoba RTB information
Can I recover the unpaid rent?

An application may include a claim for unpaid rent where appropriate. Possession and collecting a monetary award are different matters; recovery is not guaranteed and court enforcement of monetary awards is outside the standard package.

Official Manitoba RTB information
What happens if the tenant disputes the notice?

The facts and evidence need to be presented through the applicable RTB process. Both parties can put forward their case; the RTB makes the decision. Disputes do not authorize bypassing that process.
